Facebook games played a big role to the popularity of Facebook in the Philippines. Many people just sign up to Facebook just to play games exclusive in Facebook. Thanks to Farmville, people got addicted to it so much (including me). And now, EA will be bringing the popular PC game to Facebook, The Sims.
I don't know how the game works, But I think whatever you'll do and connect in Facebook will affect the game
