Save electricity in computer

Want to save electricity?. But you love playing games and you use it too much?. Anyway I give you some tips that might help lower your electric bill


1. Replace your CRT monitor with LCD Monitor -
CRT Monitor (the big one) consumes more electricity than the LCD monitor. So I suggest that you use LCD monitor

2. Keep the temperature of your computer low - because when the temperature of processor is high it will consume more power.

3. Video cards - Powerful video cards consumes a lot of electricity so less powerful video cards consumes less electricity


4. Quad Core consumes more - Quad core processors consumes a lot of energy compared to the Intel's Core 2 Duos or AMD X2. Quad core is mainly for multi-tasking and 3D editing and AFAIK, the only games that support quad cores are crysis and grand theft auto IV.

5. Use the battery of your laptop if possible - that means you should use your battery instead of plugging it. It can also prolong the battery of a laptop because you should keep the electrons moving.

Limitations in windows 7 revealed

Windows 7 has many versions from Windows 7 starter to Windows 7 Ultimate. This is the edition of windows 7 starting from the low-end up to the high-end

Starter - Home Basic - Home Premium - Professional - Ultimate



1. Windows 7 Starter and Home Basic will not come with AAC, H.264 or MPEG-2 support. Microsoft seems to have the intention to provide upgrades for those systems to add the support.

2. 4 Gigabytes of ram are supported by all Windows 7 editions in 32-bit mode. The differences are in 64-bit mode. Home Basic and Starter support a maximum of 8 Gigabytes, Home Premium 16 Gigabytes and Professional, Ultimate and Enterprise up to 192 Gigabytes of ram.

3. Windows Media Player Remote Media Experience (RME) is not available in Windows 7 Home Basic or Starter. However, all versions can share media over a home network.

4. All Windows 7 SKUs support 20 simultaneous SMB connections. This works out to 10 users, apparently.

5. Only windows 7 Professional, Ultimate and Enterprise support the Virtual XP Mode.

The editions are kinda confusing to some people. Compared to OS X Leopard, it has only 1 version.

Things to remember in RF online: Novus Rising

As the new patch arises, there are some reminders in RF online that we need to remember. And I know most of you have problems in running RF online.


1. Account registration is now open!
2. New item mall items are not yet available for purchasing.
3. Remember your Fireguard password and/or secret answer. There will be no way for us to retrieve them for you. If you forget them, then there's no way for you to play your account again.

XP mode in Windows 7?, Possible!

Compatibility issues?, no problem because Windows XP mode is here. Compatibility issue was the biggest disappointment in Windows Vista and now I think Microsoft has an answer to it.


In the picture above you can see two microsoft word, one is 2003 and one is 2007. But did you notice the microsoft 2003?. The microsoft windows 2003 uses windows xp mode while the microsoft 2007 uses windows 7. That's cool O_O.

XPM is built on the next generation Microsoft Virtual PC 7 product line, which requires processor-based virtualization support (Intel and AMD) to be present and enabled on the underlying PC, much like Hyper-V, Microsoft's server-side virtualization platform. Instead, as you install applications inside the virtual XP environment, they are published to the host (Windows 7) OS as well. (With shortcuts placed in the Start Menu.) That way, users can run Windows XP-based applications (like IE 6) alongside Windows 7 applications under a single desktop.

Microsoft profit sinks. First time in 23 years

Yes you heard it right, Microsoft's profit sinks for the first time in 23 years!.
Well, here's the article at engadget

According to numbers that the company has just released, sales fell 6 percent year-over-year, while overall net income dropped a staggering 32 percent. Those numbers are significant, but what's more telling is where those losses are coming from. Namely? Netbooks. Apparently, in the midst of a global downturn consumers really are buying cheaper, especially when it comes to tech, which puts a fairly significant crunch on Redmond's bottom line. A CNN reports suggests that the presence of Linux on those devices has contributed to the hurt here, but it's more likely that the combo of a market still unwelcoming to Vista and the wide popularity of XP on the low-power systems has more to do with these dipping profit margins. Oh, and that general, awful market depression.

RF online philippines next patch: Novus Rising

I just watch the live show and GM Vessago & GM Cydie announce that they already have the new patch and there will be no more Server Down.

They announce that they have already the new patch. Since RFO-PH is late in terms of the patch, RFO-PH will have 2 patches and there will be Cyan MAU & Yellow MAU and also a new level cap which is Level 66 0%. Some of the changes & new things in Novus Rising are:

New armors for level 57, 60, 63 and 65 Armors and all of them are color white.
There will be no more jump siege kit bug
No more bug rank
Many bugs have been gone
You can make 3 characters with races in one account

About the dupe items, They are still contacting CCR on how to clean the dupe items and regulate the economy. But they also said that RF online is not 100% Crash & Hack Proof. I just can't wait for the new patch to be release >_<

Fullmetal Alchemist: Prince of the dawn will be available for Nintendo Wii. There is still no announcement when it will be released.

Resizing or modifying the screen resolution of java games

Some java games have a large screen resolution or too small resolution but you want to maximize the screen size of the java game. No problem!, it can be resize or modified.

Instructions after the jump

1. Select the java game you would want to resize or modify. Downloaded games are mostly come in rar or zip format.

II. Extract the rar file of the java game. It will then reveal a lot of files and some folders. Look for the META-INF folder.

III. Upon opening the META-INF folder, you will see a MANIFEST.MF File. This file contains the important details of the game like Version, Midlet Names, and others. Do not modify the details written here.

IV. For first time resizing, drag the manifest.mf file to the desktop and open it using notepad. (Next time you resize, you dont need to drag it again onto the desktop)

V. At the very bottom of the mf file (opened with notepad), key in the following (this is the part where you resize the java game)

NOTE: This is an example of resizing game from N80 resolution (352x416) to N73 resolution (240x320)

Here it is:

Note: the "Original display size" refers to the initial and current size of the game prior to resizing, and the "Target Display size" refers to screen resolution that you would want your game to be resized to.

VI. Save the edited MANIFEST.MF file onto the desktop then drag it back to the initial MANIFEST.MF file in the META-INF folder found in the java game rar folder.
Overwrite the initial manifest details with your newly edited resizing details.

You have just resized your java game, ready to be played compatible with your own phone resolution.

Acer Aspire M7720 will not be as expensive as the Predator 2 that I've showed you few days ago. The Processor of Acer Aspire is weaker than the Predator 2 because this thing is only equipped with Core i7 920 Processor. Anyway, here is the specifications:

It is equipped with ATI Radeon HD 4870 compared to the predator 2's GTS 150. I'm not sure but AFAIK, ATI Radeon HD 4870 is stronger than GTS 150.

But this machine is not equipped with a blu-ray drive and its storage is only 640 GB. Well, For me 640 GB is still a monster.

If you ask me the price, this machine has a price tag of P 58,896.00. And I compute if you will buy part by part. Its price is almost similar to this. Well obviously, I'd rather choose this than predator 2.

I just saw at Villman computers the new Acer Predator Aspire G7710 Gaming Machine. And yes,this thing still looks like a transformers rig. And of course, the price is still not friendly to our pockets.

This rig looks nice because it is equipped with a powerful Intel Core i7 940 processor, 6 GB DDR3 RAM & a nVidia Geforce GTS150 which has a video memory of 1 GB But of course, in video card you should not look into the video memory, instead you should look at chip inside it. This thing should have Windows Vista Ultimate 64 Bit instead of Windows Vista premium 64 Bit since this thing is expensive.

Since this beast has a lot of monster hardware, this thing will cost you P 153,900.00. For me, It is better to have your own set-up instead of buying a computer set because if you buy a computer set, you will not only pay for the hardware but also on the brand.
